Q : Where do I begin?
A : If you want a marquee company that you trust, ask your friends and family for recommendations, as the best advertising for this business is word of mouth.

Q : What do you do?
A : PaulSimon Marquees provides more than just a basic marquee-hire service. We can project manage the whole event from venue and furniture hire to co-ordinating colour schemes or themes. We can also supply electricity, audio/visual equipment, state-of-art-lighting and luxury portable loos, (see Marquee Equipment Hire for more). On top of that, we are very happy to work with your own caterers, florists and band/DJ's so that their individual requirements are considered in our quotations. However, we have large supply list and are more than happy to reccomend from this.

Q : Do we have to have a flat lawn for your marquees?
A : The answer to that is NO. Our modern marquees can be erected on any surface, including carparks, tennis courts and equestrian sandschools, we simply need to have some means of anchoring the marquee's framed to the ground. If the ground is undulating, we can solve this by building up the floor or using a specialised raised floor, although this is a more expensive option as there is more work involved in the marquee's safe construction. We have included many bizarre things in our marquees from trees and dove cots to greenhouses and wendy houses!

Q : What damage could the marquee make?
A : Marquees generally make very little damage, and this is normally temporary. Grass will often go a slight yellow colour due to lack of light, but will quickly recover. Tennis courts may receive some marks and may need the netting to be removed and reinstated to allow for marquee entrances. If it is very wet at the time of the event, areas outside the marquee may appear well-trodden. We try to avoid this during the marquees construction by using matting to protect the surface from our team's feet and matting can be installed to protect the surface during the actual event.

Q : When should I make my reservation?
A : You can never be too early to book your marquee, especially for the busy Summer and Christmas periods. It is not unusual for many events, such as weddings, to be booked over a year in advance.

Q : When do you start constructing a marquee?
A : This is obviously relative to the size of marquee that is being constructed as well as the type of event. For a Saturday wedding, we normally start the construction on the Wednesday/Thursday before the weekend and then deconstruct the marquee on the following Monday/Tuesday. This gives time either side for the event for the marquee to be decorated as well as the installation and removal of and audio/visual equipment, etc.

Q : Are you insured?
A : PaulSimon Marquees is fully insured and is able to offer event insurance to our clients, although you more than welcome to source your own insurance. We do not recommend not taking out any insurance as despite all our precautions, unforeseen problems can and do occur.
